Lorraine Roe is a former investigative television reporter and winner of four Emmy Awards. She is married and a mom to three kids, aged four to twelve, and has been a psychic since 2002. She lives in Pasadena. In her own words:
This is my story and I'm sticking to it.
Oh yea baby, I sure am. When I was 39, the psychic info came in seemingly out of nowhere. I’m sure I had abilities when I was younger, but I don’t remember it consciously. Like many women now in the their late 30’s and early 40’s I’ve known..my women’s intuition just got stronger and suddenly I was hearing from other dimensions and I just “knew” stuff. It seemed to come in shortly after I began meditating regularly and I had quit my high-stress job.
At first I was completely blown away by it. I was very fortunate to have been around psychic Echo Bodine at the time. She came into her psychic abilities as a teenager. Echo has graciously mentored me over the years.
Today, psychic ability is a daily part of my life and my family’s life. I find that my children just know stuff...and that they have a very real connection to spirit. My 11-year-old is great at manifesting. My 13-year-old is psychic. My 5-year-old is just simply in the flow. And I think my husband relies a lot on riding his Harley Davidson to get his best insights.
Over the years I’ve devoted at least 20-minutes a day to meditation. I believe laughter and tears are the best medicine for not getting all bottled up. I practice self-care and being connected to divine.
I used to be a workaholic television reporter. I spent the last seven years of my 15-year television career at KSTP-TV in Minneapolis/St. Paul. After I started doing meditation, things began to change dramatically. Today, I work as a psychic, blogger, teacher and author.
Our family goes back and forth between Los Angeles and our house in the mountains of northern California.
I believe if women connect to God first and foremost...everyone around them benefits effortlessly. I’ve certainly seen that happen in my own life and in the lives of many other psychic housewives.
SoCal Book Scene Exclusive (Mini) Interview:
SCBS: What did you do before you “officially” became an author?
LR: Before I was a published author I was a wife, mom and psychic. Now that I'm published, I'm still all those things and that's what I wrote about in the book. Before that I was an investigative reporter and producer who worked in television news for 15 years.
SCBS: How do you spend your weekends?
LR: My weekends are spent with family. When I'm not shuttling our three kids to events, the family goes hiking, plays outside, plays computer games, makes movies with Star Wars figures for youtube or we play with the pet squirrel. My husband and I like to go for dates by driving our motorycycles. He has a Harley Davidson and I have a Ducati. Last weekend we drove up Angeles Crest Highway. It was amazing.
SCBS: What’s your favorite restaurant in Southern California?
LR: My favorite restaurant is Mi Piace in Pasadena. It's a steadfast beacon in an ever-changing world. The Italian food is amazing, especially any of their meat dishes.
