SoCal Book Scene Exclusive (Mini) Interview:
SCBS: What did you do before you “officially” became an author?
JH: I taught at about a dozen colleges in NY, NJ, VT, and CA. Spare time and money went to reading about the world, trying to understand it.
SCBS: How do you spend your weekends?
JH: Writing, reading, confronting my despair, not confronting my despair, and taking walks.
SCBS: What’s your favorite restaurant in Southern California?
JH: Abbot's Pizza in Venice. The Santa Monica location is good, too.
